When will be the deduction for GIRO?
GIRO deduction date will be on the 26th of every month from February to December. School fees for the month of January will be deducted only in February. Hence for February, the deduction will be for both January and February fees.
If the 26th falls on a Saturday, Sunday or Public Holiday, the deduction for that month will be on the next working day.

How much are the monthly school fees? / What is my monthly school fee charge?
Please refer to the charges for Primary, Secondary and Pre-University education.
You may approach the school to clarify your child’s school fee rate.

Why are there no deductions made from GIRO although there is sufficient amount?
The GIRO may still be in the process of activation or is currently suspended.

What is the reason / why is my GIRO being suspended?
If GIRO fails in one month, the balance will be carried forward to be deducted with the next month’s fees. The GIRO account will be suspended if it fails in the next month or have arrears exceeding 2 consecutive months’ fees.

How can I reactivate the GIRO if it is currently suspended?
Once the arrears are settled full in cash/by cheque/online payment, the GIRO account will be automatically re-instated.

How can I pay the school fees for my child?
- Giro (GIRO instruction will carry on so long as your child / ward remains in Govt / Govt-aided Primary / Secondary / JC / Pre-U)
- Non-Giro at school (cash, cheque, money order)
- Cash, cheque, NETS at MOE’s Customer Service Centre
- Online at the eCitizen website

Can I pay by other means such as AXS, SAM or SINGPost?
Currently, it is not possible to make school fees payment through those means.

How long is the processing time for new GIRO application?
The normal processing time will take one to two months depending on the bank. You may wish to download the GIRO application form (140kb .doc).

How do I terminate my GIRO arrangement?
If you are the account holder, you can terminate GIRO by submitting a Termination Order (109kb .doc) to the Ministry or your bank.
If you are not the account holder, please write to the Ministry of Education, Financial Systems and Operations Branch, Finance & Development Division, 1 North Buona Vista Drive, MOE Building, Singapore 138675, for advice.

What must I do to deduct fees via GIRO from a different bank account?
Parents who wish to change their GIRO account can go to their banks to effect the change directly. This is provided that the new account is with the same bank.
Alternatively, parents can submit the Termination Form (109kb .doc), together with the new GIRO Application Form (140kb .doc) to MOE. The termination form will have to be completed by the existing GIRO account holder. This is also applicable to students who are using their own account for GIRO payment.

How are the current school fees being calculated?
Total fees charges = school fees + standard miscellaneous fees + 2nd tier miscellaneous fees + autonomous fees (applicable to autonomous schools)

Why do I still need to pay the school fees for December when my child is not studying in school?
Students are to pay school fees for all 12 months. This is because the total costs of running a school and the corresponding fees payable are calculated on an annual basis. The fees payable are then spread out over a period of 12 months.

Can I pay for my child’s school fees in advance for the whole year as I am not under GIRO and so that I won’t be charged for that year anymore?
Yes, you can make the payment through the school and your credit balance will be used to offset against future MOE bills.
