Application for Supplementary Placement Exercise – Secondary Schools
Returning Singaporean children who are unable to make it for the 11 Oct 2012 SPERS-Sec tests can take part in a Supplementary Placement Exercise in December 2012.
The 2012 Supplementary Placement Exercise tests is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on 27 December 2012 (Thursday).
More information on the 2012 Supplementary Placement Exercise application procedures will be available in mid July 2012.
Eligibility
Returning Singaporean children who wish to start school at the beginning of the school year together with other local children in early January 2012 are encouraged to register for the 2011 School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans - Secondary schools (SPERS-Sec). The SPERS-Sec tests will be conducted on 13 October 2011 and school posting results will be released in early to mid-December 2011.
Returning Singaporean children who are unable to make it for the 13 Oct 2011 SPERS-Sec tests can still take part in a Supplementary Placement Exercise in December 2011.
The Supplementary Placement Exercise is similar in structure to SPERS-Sec and involves 3 phases:
- the Eligibility Phase
- the School Option Phase
- the School Posting Phase
Returning Singaporean (Singapore Citizen and Singapore Permanent Resident) children, who have lived and studied overseas and do not have a place in a local school (including places reserved under the Leave of Absence Scheme or otherwise), are eligible to participate in the Supplementary Placement Exercise for admission to Secondary 1, 2 and 3 in academic year 2012.
Returning Singaporean children who have registered or sat for the 2011 SPERS-Sec tests on 13 Oct 2011 are not eligible to take part in the Supplementary Placement Exercise.
Eligible returning Singaporeans may apply to sit for the centralised papers under the Supplementary Placement Exercise at the level appropriate for their age cohort, based on the permissible age range below.
