Mission

To formulate and review education policies as well as manage and analyse key MOE data to support MOE management in decision-making.

Functions

Education Policy Branch

Reviews and formulates education policies within the purview of the Ministry

Provides administrative and support functions which include secretariat support for the Ministerial Committee Meeting (MCM)

International Cooperation Branch

Formulates and reviews policies to strengthen MOE’s education relations and engagement with foreign counterparts, and

Formulates and reviews policies to facilitate Singapore’s development as an education hub, focusing on the export of MOE’s public education expertise

Management Information and Research Branch

Collects and analyses data and statistics to monitor the condition of the education system and the performance of individual schools

Responsible for the collection and maintenance of data in the Ministry’s data banks

Conducts international collaboration studies, as well as research and evaluation studies

National Education Branch

Promotes national education by fostering in pupils a sense of identity as Singaporeans
